I live with my wife and work from our home in the Bernese Oberland in Switzerland. Besides running my hosting company Anu Internet Services, I provide freelance consulting and support services.
My interests are in hosting technologies, server operating systems and network design. I’ve spent many years learning the intricacies of server virtualization (using Xen on CentOS) and network management (resource tracking, backups, security, performance measurements, etc). I enjoy networking (the human variety) with peers and clients at events such as the Lasso Developer Conferences.

When I’m not working I enjoy riding my bike up the local mountains, swimming in lake Thun (in the summer!), learning new languages or touring Europe by car. Although I’m half Belgian and Swedish, English is my mother tongue. I also speak some Dutch, German and a little Bärndütsch (the local Swiss German dialect). I’m still far from fluent in any of them.
